Black Authors Matter: A Read with Gina Gadson

Gina Gadson is the author of Alpha’s Adventure, a five book series that entertain children as they learn. Her love for youths sparked the creation of her books, coloring books and hand-made characters. She is the recipient of the Urban Leadership Award honoring her exemplary dedication to others. Paving the way for those in the literary industry, Gina’s history-making event, March Book Madness, brought 24 independent African American authors together at the Southlake Mall in Merrillville, Indiana. September Book Madness was another event spearheaded by Ms. Gadson to provide school supplies to youths in the community. In addition, she co-sponsored an Author’s Workshop to provide information to fellow authors and help further their literary career. Gina received an AABA in Marketing and a BBA in Management. Since 2005, she has been a Director at a local University where she continues to promote education. 
Gina Gadson is the Founder and CEO of Distinguished Authors Guild. D.A.G. pays homage to African American authors, honoring those of the past and awarding those who are our future, through awards and scholarships. D.A.G give authors a platform to showcase their hard work and spotlight their creativity. Along with a special night of accolades and awards, Distinguished Authors Guild prides itself in supporting our youths. The goal is to gift 10 freshman college students in the creative writing/literary/journalism field with a $1000 scholarship.
In 2020, D.A.G. presented ten authors with the D.A.G. Award and one student with a $500 scholarship. In 2021, there were twelve receiving authors and one student who received a $500 scholarship. In 2022, D.A.G. went live for the first time. The elite award ceremony was conducted in Las Vegas, NV with sixteen award winning books and one $500 scholarship recipient.
